AMIT SHAH : FROM STOCK BROKER TO BJP'S NATIONAL PRESIDENT

Amit shah (born 22 October 1964) is an Indian politician and is currently National president of BHARATIYA JANATA PARTY. Under his leadership BJP has Under his leadership BJP has won consecutive Legislative assembly in Maharashtra, Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand and Assam in 2016 but lost Delhi and Bihar in 2015. He also led the party to landslide victory in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand and helped BJP make beginning in Manipur but BJP alliance lost in Punjab . Also after BJP won only 13 seats in Goa ,it was the mind of Amit Shah which helped BJP to form Government by sidelining the majority party Indian National Congress.

Amit Shah used to be involved in Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) since childhood. His political career started as leader of the student wing of RSS Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) in 1983. He joined BJP in1985. He also actively participated in BJP'S youth wing Bharatiya Janata Yuva Mocha (BJYM) .

IN 1995 when BJP formed its first government in Gujarat with Keshubhai Patel as Chief Minister at that time Shah and Modi worked together to destroy Congress influence in rural areas. Shah was also elected as president of Ahmedabad District Cooperative Bank (In 1999) the biggest cooperative bank in India. At that time bank was in loss of ₹36 crores he turned the fortune of the bank within a year and bank registered ₹27 crores profit. He also served as Vice-President of cash rich Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) .

Shah became an MLA in February 1995 after winning the election of Gujarat Legislative Assembly in Sarkhej on BJP ticket .He became youngest minister in Modi government during 12 year tenure of Modi as Gujarat Chief Minister.Shah was given several portfolios at one time he handled 12 portfolios .

Since 1989 , Shah fought 28 elections of various Local bodies and has never lost an election. After becoming party president his strategy of membership drive worked and BJP became world largest party with 100 million members.Amit shah had taken BJP to new heights. His mantra of success has been extensive traveling and establishing mass contact with party workers. He traveled almost 524 km every day total of 5,07,177 km during 32 month period.
